GroupWise User Maintenance

Name context:  GroupWise login recognizes users based on their network login ID.   Under the current version of NetWare it's preferable that all users be up to date on their network clients and that they be running under Windows.  With the newest clients they should be coming up as a fully qualified network ID.  At the moment only a DSC administrator is capable of resetting the name context.  If the need exists, please put in a request to an appropriate administrator at the Service Center.

Password change:  An administrator can perform two operations on users' passwords, set/reset and clear.  The password cannot be looked up, only changed.  The option is available under the GroupWise Account tag using the Change GroupWise Password button.

bulletTo clear the password click the Clear user's password button, then click OK.
bulletTo set or reset a password enter the new password in both the Enter new password field and the Retype password field.  Asterisks will be echoed instead of the letters you type.  Click OK to set the password.

Distribution lists:  In the event that you may wish to have a clerical person maintain the mailings lists, they will need to have trusteeship of the po container and run NWADMIN32 with the GroupWise snapin.   They will be able to create and maintain the lists within the container.  A separate container may be established, if desired, for other lists.  In addition they'll need access to the domain database and will need to make the appropriate settings pointing to that directory when the snapin is first envoked.
