How do I get a list of my unopened items?

The list of unopened items in GroupWise 4.1 was the result of a filter.  The same applies to GroupWise 5.  What we need to develop is a query folder, something like a saved filter that we can apply when needed.  For all intents and purposes it looks like a standard folder with a magnifying glass on it.  When clicked, the filter is applied.  Sent Items is a query folder.

We'll assume that we want to create the query folder in the same area as Mailbox, Sent Items, Calendar, etc.

Make sure the Mail box under "Item type" is checked. Other options in this box may be checked depending on what you'd like displayed. Under the "Look in" box be certain that only the folders in which you want to filter unopened mail are checked.  In this case, its only the Mailbox.  Click the Advanced Find button.

Select "Item Status" from the list and click OK.  Click the button to the right of the Item type field and select "Does Not Include".  Click the dropdown triangle in the next field and select "Opened".  Click the button that says "End" above and select the "And" option.  This will open up a new sequence like the one we've just been through, but we'll select different options.  Follow the preceding instructions but make selections that will make the entire selection look like this:

Click the OK button to return to the Unread Properties box. Select OK from there to complete the process.  You should have a new query folder in your list.  You may move it around as you please using the usual Edit/Folder option.
