Mochasoft W32 LPD

Mochasoft's W32 LPD program allows your Windows pc's to act as a LPD for Unix printing. This means that you can print Unix print jobs directly to the local printer connected to the PC. We have purchased a site license so this is a licensed product for the whole district. The information below will describe the installation process.

Installation

Before installing this product, you will need to assign a static ip address to the workstation. Ask the District Service Center for the ip address. Once you have a static ip address assignment, figure out if this is to replace an existing Colleague printer or if it's a new one. If it is to replace an existing printer, use the same Colleague printer name. If it is a new printer, use the following naming convention: xx-abc1234 where xx is your campus letters and abc1234 is the login id of the user of that workstation. Use -p such as xx-abc1234-p, to designate that it is a portrait printer. No -p means it is landscape. The MLPD software is located on your N:\MLPD directory. Just run MLPD.EXE to begin the install process.

bulletRun N:\MLPD\MLPD.EXE and click n the Setup button.
bulletClick Next to continue and click Yes to accept the license agreement.
