Hummingbird HostExplorer for LibraryAccess

  1. Run DSC2/SYS:INSTALL\HostEx7\Setup.exe
  2. Click OK for English (United States)
  3. Click Next to continue
  4. Choose "I accept the terms in the License Agreement" and click Next.
  5. Enter Username and enter DCCCD for the Organization. Choose "Anyone who uses this computer (all users) and click Next.
  6. Choose the default destination folder and click Next.
  7. Choose CUSTOM and click Next.
  8. Make the following selections:
    bulletAccessories - X-This feature will not be available.
    bulletHostExplorer-Hummingbird Neighborhood-HostExplorer ProfileType-Telnet - This feature will be installed on the local hard drive. Make all other selections in the HostExplorer category -X-This feature will not be available.
    bulletHummingbird Inetd - X-This feature will not be available.
    bulletSystem Administration - X-This feature will not be available.
  9. Click Next and click Install to begin the install.
  10. Click Finish to exit the install.
  11. Open the Hummingbird Neighborhood icon on the desktop.
  12. Double click on the "Start New HostExplorer Profile" icon to start it.
  13. Choose the following:
    bulletTerminal Type = VT
    bulletHost Name = library.dcccd.edu
  14. Save profile as Library
  15. Copy the new Library icon to the Desktop.
  16. Configure the session profile.
    Open a telnent session
    click Options
    click Edit Session Profile

        Display Row/Col indicator
        Save Attributes in Scrollback
        100 Lines Available in Scrollback
        Windows Style status bar
      Cursor Block
        Blink
      Fonts Select Font - Name - Courier New
                                Font size - 15
                                Font style - Bold
                                Character spacing - Narrow
        Keep Font Aspect Ratio
        Force Exact Terminal Window Size
        Save Font & Window Info on Exit
        Keep Screen Size Constant
      Screen Layout 80 Columns
    24 rows
    Output Print Screen Add FormFeed after Raw Print Screen
        Print Operator Infomation Area (IOA)
