Q - How do I assign static ip address to a workstation.

A - We recommend using your DHCP server to statically assign the workstation ip address.

bulletFind out the workstation's NetBIOS name (Computer Name) and the Physical (Adapter) address of the NIC.
bulletGo to your Netware server and type "load dhcpcfg" to load the DHCP Config menu.
bulletChoose "IP Address Assignment".
bulletLook for the NetBIOS name of the workstation and enter.
bulletConfirm the workstation with the physical address.
bulletWrite down the IP Address.
bulletEscape from the current screen.
bulletDelete the entry by using the Del key and confirm to "Delete Workstation IP Assignment".
bulletUse insert key and type in the workstation NetBIOS name and enter.
bulletType in the IP Address you wrote down earlier and also type in the Physical Address as well in the following format xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
bulletEscape and choose Yes to save.

This will now let DHCP server permenantly assign this ip address to that workstation.
